Getting There

If you’re coming from I-15, take exit 272 (800 North) in Orem. Head east on 800 North until you reach Provo Canyon. If you’re coming from Provo, head north on University Avenue until you reach Provo Canyon.

Mt. Timpanogos Park is about 1 mile up the canyon on the left, just past Canyon View Park. There will be plenty of parking, and the park has many large pavilions, tables, and grassy areas, with a small playground for children.

5K Course

The first half of the course follows a dirt trail along the side of Mount Timpanogos. Just before the halfway point, there is a rocky switchback section that descends down to the Provo River Parkway. From there, the rest of the course is paved, all the way back to Mount Timpanogos Park. Due to the rocky terrain, strollers will not be allowed on the 5K course.

The 5K race course begins and ends near Mt. Timpanogos Park in Provo Canyon. The first half is a smooth dirt trail, but running with a stroller is not recommended due to the brief switchback section that leads from the dirt trail down to the paved sidewalk.

 1-Mile Walk

If you’d prefer not to run, you can take a scenic walk around Mount Timpanogos Park and the surrounding area on our 1-mile course. Don’t worry about the clock, just bring your friends to walk or ride along with you on paved sidewalk. Strollers are allowed (and encouraged!) on the 1-mile course.

Spread the word! Three free 5K race entries will be given to 3 randomly chosen people who like and share our page on Facebook through UtahRunningGuide.com! http://www.facebook.com/OperationSmile5k
